Whether MBA is a good choice depends on your aptitude and career goals. It also depends on the choice of U.S. universities to pursue the MBA program in: Are the universities you choose are in the top 50 in the list of American graduate schools that offer the MBA program? Or is it a second- third-tier university? These are some of the questions that need the answer to decide if MBA is a good choice for you.
Note that higher the rank of an American university for its MBA program, the better the reasons to pursue an MBA program in that U.S University.
Be aware also that many U.S. universities require that applicants have 2-3 years of work experience prior to applying for their MBA programs. Even if a university doesn’t have such a requirement, you would get the most of your MBA studies, if you opt for it after a few years of professional work experience.
Should you select M.S. rather than MBA? Again, you’ve to make a decision based entirely on the path you want to drive your career on. The career route you wish to take in turn should be based on your aptitude and interests.

Which Program should I Choose for MS in the U.S.?
Which are some of the universities in the U.S. that offer MS in MIS /CIS? What is the difference between MIS / CIS? Should I choose CIS / MIS or Computer Science?
Georgia State University (www2.cis.gsu.edu), Boston University (www.bu.edu), and Oklahoma State University (spears.okstate.edu/msis/degrees/msmis) are some of the few universities among the many educational institutions in America that offer MS in MIS (Management Information Systems) / CIS (Computer Information Systems).
Many of the courses are common to the MIS and CIS graduate programs. The MIS curriculum has a higher management emphasis.
Core Courses of MS Program in MIS and CIS in U.S. Universities
Examples of the core courses in MIS are:
Economics
Systems Management
Management of Software Systems
Corporate Finance
Database Systems Management
Examples of the core courses in CIS are:
Information Systems Planning
Network Planning and Administration
Data Modeling and Database Administration
Information System Resource Acquisition
Comparative System Development Methodologies
MS in Computer Science
MS in Computer Science (CS) has in-depth technical rigor, compared to either MIS or CIS. The CS program helps gain extensive technical knowledge and training through MS projects in operating systems, compilers, database design, OOP, AI and others.
Which MS Program--MIS / CIS or CS--in the U.S. should you choose?
It all depends on your aptitude and short- and long-term career goals. An outstanding feature of the American Educational System is that you can choose elective courses outside of your MS program. Such an option allows you gain knowledge and skills in many areas and helps pursue a career path of your choice.

How to Write a Cover Letter for a Job in the U.S. after getting a M.S. Degree?
I have made some assumptions, particularly about your experience and the core courses you have taken. Here is a sample cover letter:
Dear Mr. Walters,
As a software professional with over two years of experience and recent graduate with an M.S. in Computer Science from Washington State University, I am a strong fit for the Java Programmer position at Widget International, Inc. I have attached my resume for your review.
With extensive experience in object-oriented programming / OOP developing software applications for business verticals like finance and insurance, I am eager to contribute my information technology expertise to your company. I have experience in all the phases of the software development life cycle / SDLC. I can work on multiple projects and adhere to strict schedules.
In the Computer Science graduate program, I have completed courses that include software engineering I & II, systems analysis and design, and software architecture and graduated with a GPA of 3.7. The MS program has further honed my software development skills.
I request you the opportunity for an interview to discuss how my qualifications best match with your company’s job position. I will call you within the next five days to see if I can schedule a meeting with you.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Shiv Shankar
NOTE: You've to use a letter-head format for your e-mail cover letter, unless the employer wants you to send the cover letter in text / ASCII format.
